Since 1791, additional amendments have been added to the Constitution, increasing the American experience for all citizens. The judges of our nation's courts have the difficult job of interpreting the meaning of citizens' rights. As legal experts, they decide whether people's rights are being violated by the actions of other citizens. They may also decide whether rights have been violated by any existing laws.
