Nations today are interdependent in many ways. In the global economy of world trade, nations depend on each other for products and natural resources. Although the world is interdependent simply because each nation shares the same life-sustaining needs, today's increased global interdependence is largely the result of improvements in technology, communications, and transportation. Many people now see the world not as a collection of independent nations, but as one unified system.
