Nakshatras: One of India's Great Contributions to Astrology
The history of astrology is often described as originating in Babylonia, being transformed in the Hellenistic period, continuing through the Middle Ages, and then being revived in the late 1800's and continuing to today in a Modern period of astrology.
However, not all modern astrological ideas were developed through this lineage of information. There are some ideas, such as nakshatras, that are Indian in origin and were passed down to us more directly from India rather than from the Babylonian and Hellenistic astrological traditions
