Exploration

In this video lesson we will be looking at the Age of Exploration. The Age of Exploration or Age of Discovery as it is sometimes called, officially began in the early 15th century and lasted until the 17th century.

This is a review of Period III of World History (600-1450CE) as well as a look ahead to Period IV of World History (1450-1750CE). It sets the stage for the significant changes that took place in the Age of Exploration and European expansion into the world network. This lesson shows a map of the world during this era when not most areas were not dominated by a major political unit. This lesson explains the state of the world before Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue in 1492.
